Roman Ritual of the Celebration of Marriage

The new marriage ritual is the result of joint work between the Churches of the French-speaking world. This ritual received the Roman recognitio in December 2010 and has been in force since the first Sunday of Advent 2011. This new ritual includes annexes that take into account the new situations that pastors and those responsible for marriage preparation must face in the contemporary context.

Proposals for various circumstances

• The ritual of the blessing of the engaged

• The ritual of the blessing of the spouses during the mass for their wedding anniversary

• Prayer for two catechumens or a catechumen party and a non-Christian party, after their civil marriage

• Prayer for two married neophytes, or for a neophyte and his Christian spouse on the day of baptism, or one of the following Sundays
