Praying Our Way Toward Wholeness

The book offers a pastoral approach to prayer in the traditional three stages of spiritual growth. Its target population is both pastors and parishioners and formation programs for both clergy and laity. It is a practical guide to appreciating, understanding and teaching prayer. My previous book, A Pilgrimage to God: A Pastoral Theology of Contemplation for Pastors and Parishioners highlighted the need to take seriously Vatican II’s universal call to holiness. The parish should offer a pastoral approach that calls both pastors and parishioners to holiness. Praying Our Way into Life is a sensible program to facilitate that spiritual growth at the parish level. While it is related to the previous effort, it easily stands on its own as a relevant statement on the role of spirituality and prayer in the parish.Tracy O'Sullivan
