Lourdes, the Virgin Mary, Saint Bernadette and the texts of the Gospel.
It is in this extraordinary place, in front of the grotto of Massabielle and the basilica of Lourdes, that Robert Hossein wanted to put on a show that is also a slightly crazy bet: to bring to the stage the Apparitions of Lourdes and great pages of the Gospel. The success, the emotion, the fervor, have exceeded what could have been imagined. The DVD will allow to relive what was a great show and a great moment of faith.
For his project, Robert Hossein took up the stories of Saint Bernadette and the adaptation that Alain Decaux had made of the great pages of the Gospel. For the rest, we know his talent: music, choreography, costume, staging, he knows how to breathe a breath that touches widely.
"The discovery of the Basilica of Lourdes and the Grotto of Massabielle plunged me into the immediate need to mount in this highly privileged site a fresco evoking the apparitions experienced by Bernadette Soubirous. I then imagined the Virgin Mary telling this simple and gentle fourteen-year-old girl the life of Jesus as she had lived it. A rich and stripped-down evocation, which has only one goal: to reunite in the communion of hope." Robert Hossein
