July 26 – Feast of Saint Anne and Saint Joachim

Anne and Joachim, we pray to you
for parents and grandparents
in our country and throughout the world.
May they be filled with tenderness
for their children and grandchildren.

Grant them the grace to listen,
to welcome them as they are,
to carry them in prayer,
and to comfort them with care,
entrusting them to the Father of all goodness.

Keep faith alive in our hearts,
joyful hope in our homes
and unconditional love in our families.
May forgiveness be given and received at all times,
so that peace may reign among us and throughout the earth.

We ask this of you humbly,
through your daughter Mary, our beloved mother,
through your grandson Jesus, our gentle Saviour,
you who live with them in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
for ever and ever. Amen.
