May 25. Our Lady of Good Counsel

Theological meaning

The Virgin Mary is attentive to God’s will and she teaches us discernment, guiding us in our choices.

In the Bible

“If any of you is lacking in wisdom, ask God.” (James 1.5)

Meditation

We are called to make choices: sometimes simple, sometimes demanding. It is not always easy to see clearly. Mary teaches us a peaceful way of deciding: to take time to listen, to let things mature, to seek what leads to a more life-giving path.

Prayer

Mary, enlighten my choices and teach me to discern with clarity.
